Derek Carr, back when he was a player on the Fresno State Football team, always knew that he would be a professional athlete.
Born in Bakersfield, California on March 28, 1991, Derek Carr always had a thing for football. Playing football was all he did and he was good at it. After high school, he attended Fresno State where he played on their football team for five years. He was one of the best players to have played at Fresno State, and even finished in 8th place for the Heisman Trophy– an award given to the best college quarterback.
After college, the Oakland Raiders drafted him in 2014 and were impressed with how well he had done in preseason games and soon became their starting Quarterback.
This past season, he was the first Raiders Quarterback to play in the ProBowl game after it was announced that he would replace Aaron Rodgers.
He is married and has two kids. His uncle was also a player for the Oakland Raiders in 1978.
