The San Jose Sharks just recently started their 2016-2017 season and are off to an bumpy start. They currently have three wins and three losses.
On September 20th, they had a rematch against the Stanley Cup Final winners, the Pittsburg Penguins. Last season, the first time the San Jose Sharks ever made it to the Finals in their 25 year history, they ultimately lost to the Penguins in Game six out of the seven game series so this game was a rematch of the finals.
Without their captain, Sydney Crosby, the Penguins struggled to keep the Sharks from scoring. Going into the third period, the Sharks were up 2-0 and kept their heads held high– maybe to high. By the end of the game, the score was 3-2 with the Penguins winning the game. The Sharks just seemed to fall apart and the Penguins got the best of them.
The Sharks seemed to be in a slump once that game was over. They went into Pittsburg with a 3-1 record and now they are on a three game losing streak. They come back to the Tank, the SAP Center at San Jose this week for three home games. Hopefully coming back to San Jose will give them the strength they need to start winning games again.
