Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics, also known as the A’s, are a professional baseball team located in Oakland California and play at the Oakland Alameda Coliseum. They are part of the American League West division of the Major League Baseball, MLB. The club has won the third most World Series championships in the league and they are at nine championships.

Before being placed in Oakland, the team started out in two other cities. The team originated in Philadelphia as the Philadelphia Athletics in 1901 and stayed there until the 1954 season. They then moved to Kansas City until the 1967 season until the once again moved for the final time to Oakland.
